Erfurt-Weimar Airport terminal building in Thuringia Germany

AES Airport Solutions has been selected to supply LED taxiway guidance signs for Erfurt-Weimar Airport, located in the state of Thuringia, central Germany.

About the Airport

Erfurt-Weimar Airport (IATA: ERF, ICAO: EDDE) serves the Thuringian capital Erfurt and the nearby city of Weimar, one of Germany’s most important cultural and historical centres. The airport features a single 2,600 m runway (09/27) equipped with ILS CAT IIIb capabilities, and has a passenger capacity of approximately 1.6 million per year (source: Flughafen Erfurt-Weimar). In 2024, the airport handled close to 170,000 passengers, marking a 23% increase over the previous year (source: Grokipedia / DHMI data).

Project Scope

The project covers the supply of LED taxiway guidance signs from the Airsafe range. These signs are designed to provide clear and reliable visual guidance to flight crews and ground vehicle operators navigating the taxiway system, in full compliance with ICAO Annex 14 and EASA CS-ADR-DSN standards.
