Electrical and air conditioning pit systems for fixed installation on airport apron stands. Designed to deliver 400 Hz ground power (90 to 180 kVA), 28/270 VDC power, 50/60 Hz maintenance power, and pre-conditioned air (PCA) to aircraft during turnaround, maintenance, and overnight parking. Suitable for commercial airports of all sizes, from regional single-aisle gates to international wide-body stands, as well as military airfields and MRO facilities. Replaces mobile GPUs and PCA carts, enabling cleaner, quieter, and more efficient apron operations.
DESCRIPTION
As airports move towards cleaner, quieter, and more efficient apron operations, fixed ground services are replacing mobile equipment at an increasing number of stands. Mobile GPUs and PCA carts take up space on the apron, create obstacles for ground vehicles, require towing and positioning, and generate noise and emissions. A fixed pit system eliminates all of these issues by delivering power and conditioned air from an in-ground installation that remains flush with the pavement surface when not in use.
The Siyuans pit systems are engineered for this purpose. Each system is installed below the apron surface within a reinforced pit structure, with a load-bearing cover rated to EN124 F900 (900 kN). This means the cover can support the weight of aircraft wheel loads and the heaviest ground support vehicles without deformation. When the system is not in use, the apron surface is completely clear, with no obstacles, no parked equipment, and no trip hazards.
The range covers two service categories: electrical pit systems for 400 Hz AC power, 28/270 VDC power, and 50/60 Hz maintenance power; and air conditioning pit systems for pre-conditioned air delivery to the aircraft. Each category is available in two configurations: hatch systems and pop-up systems, allowing airports to select the design that best fits their stand layout, service requirements, and budget.
All systems include safety interlock functions that immediately cut off the power supply or service connection in case of abnormal electrical connection or pit cover status. This protects both personnel and equipment during the connection and disconnection process.
